It's been a while since I posted a Friday Five, and that's actually going to be the topic of this Friday Five!

We all put things off, put things down, put things away.  Sometimes we put them off permanently, like the fellow who, on his death bed, wishes he'd spent more time with his family.  Sometimes we put things down and never pick them back up, like the 50 year-old who wishes they'd gotten a college degree but no longer has the time, energy, or motivation to do so this late...

I have a new cast and its really hard to type.  Deal with it. This is gonna be a short one.

Last weekend, I shaved Simons head for Him, as I do on a regular basis during the summer.

As I was doing it, I had a craving, a deep desire, to hand Him the clippers and let Him shave mine when I was done.

My luxurious red hair has always been a source of pride and vanity for me.  Lately though, it's lost its fire, and I have to color it artificially in order to be satisfied with i...

Recently another blogger admitted he took delight in trying to annoy me, and considered himself something of a 'success' in that endeavor.  His exact, self-congratulatory words were as follows:

But I get a kick out of driving her nuts and watching her pull every insult she can come up with and barely put a scratch on me.

For the record, I don't interact with this blogger often but he seems to place far more importance on our occasional interactions than I do.  My response to this...

Yes, folks, it's true.  Or it isn't.  (And if it isn't true, then I've been libeled by the same person who is arguing about libel with Ock and Mari. http://forums.joeuser.com/310858.)

Lately we've had a couple of new bloggers making their presence known in JU, one seems truly new (erathoniel) and one's been around a while on the gaming forums, but must have been attracted here by the new and improved cross-posting system recently implemented by the JU Gods.  (All the Gods ...

Hiya folks, just a few updates:

1) Please forgive typos, i am still in a cast, still in some pain, and my sutures don't come out until the 21st.  All seems to be going ok except for some really unpleasant tingling in my fingertips, will call doctor today about that.

2) Simon starts a new job today, a 2 year contract right here in Richmond @ 42k per year.  He'll also get 10 paid holidays, a week's paid sick leave, a week's paid vacation, and health insurance.  I was hopi...

1)  I called the vet this morning and Greybaby and kittens are doing fine, she's growling at them when they go to change her food and water but not attacking, and she readily adopted the orphan they needed a wet nurse for.  They are going to continue to try to socialize her, but if they aren's successful, they will return her to me to finish out her life in the neighborhood she knows, spayed and fully vaccinated, free of charge.  God bless you, Dr Nan Jack.

2) I spend Wednesday...

I have two neutered male cats, Noodles, the Kitty From Outer Space, who we brought with us from Ohio, and Darth Meeps, Lord of the Couch, who was fathered by Noodle before his denutting, born to a neighborhood slattern, and later kitnapped by yours truly.  In exchange for stealing one of her children, I later had the slut spayed and found homes for them all.

Since we moved to this side of town two years ago, we've been building a relationship of sorts with a fluffy, squeaky-voiced, grey ...

STOP: Before you read this, read the external link above, as this article is a parody of it and you'll be lost if you don't.Stopping Byposted by Gilligan on 'Hear my Butt Trombone Blow'For those who care, I'm still living the exact same lifestyle I was a few months ago.  For those who don't, so are my kids.

The other day, I was obsessing about my own ability to pass an accounting test, and almost decided to just up and quit, thereby denying myself the same superior education and social i...

Warning: Pissy little rant to follow.  You don't like it?  Go away.

I'm taking a break from JU.  Lately it seems like I log in, poke around and find little of interest, seeing that I am not into gaming, skinning, arguments about which O/S is best, or the endless repetition of various jesus-freaks that pollute these forums, no longer content to confine their bigoted screeds to the religion section.

Christ-on-a-pony, the most exciting thing that's happened around here lately (...

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about some issues I was having with a crazed neighbor who kept threatening to kill my cats (because *some* cat left pawprints on her car) and engaging in long, obnoxious tirades outside our living room window--full of venom, obscenity, threats and racial slurs.

For the full background, see link above.  Suffice it to say that the police could do little without third-party witnesses to the behavior, and she had succeeded in actually trapping one of my h...

I had the MRI on my hand and wrist last Thursday and got a call from my rheumatologist today.  The lump (currently the size of a large walnut)  is definitely *not* a ganglion cyst, as I had hoped.

For the first part of this story, please go here-->   http://little-whip.joeuser.com/article/177743/I_Have_a_Lump

Doc doesn't know what it is, says he's never quite seen anything like it before, but that everything in the area, muscles, tendons, synovial...

A few of you more astute readers, those who pay close attention to detail as well as the ever-changing relationships between various bloggers may have noticed the beginnings of a falling-out between Elie (aka ModerateMan) and myself recently.

We, (as in the both of us) nipped it in the bud, resolving our misunderstanding (and that's all it was) privately, and I tried to remove certain references I had made when my anger was first aroused, references that were unfair and grossly exagerated.&nb...

Back in January I made a trip to the local ER because of a strange lump on the back of my hand, near the wrist joint. This was the second or third time the thing had swollen up, red, inflamed, and very painful, but it somehow felt 'different' from a normal R/A (rheumatoid arthritis) flare-up.

In the previous episodes, the swelling (which had spread all the way down to my knuckles, making them disappear altogether) and severe pain eventually went away after a few days, but the lump itself r...

Warning: Pissy, whiny complaining ahead. Maybe even a shot of self-pity. Go away. Don't even read this.

Sighs...

So I get up at my usual time this morning (between 4-5 AM) and like an automaton, start stumbling through my morning routine. Let dogs out. Feed cats. Start coffee. Kiss Husband (who has sat up all night watching cheesy gore-flicks) and send Him to bed. Call dogs in. Grab coffee and head to the computer to read the news, check email, and spend some time in JU.

I not...
