I had the MRI on my hand and wrist last Thursday and got a call from my rheumatologist today.  The lump (currently the size of a large walnut)  is definitely *not* a ganglion cyst, as I had hoped.

For the first part of this story, please go here-->   http://little-whip.joeuser.com/article/177743/I_Have_a_Lump

Doc doesn't know what it is, says he's never quite seen anything like it before, but that everything in the area, muscles, tendons, synovial...

A few of you more astute readers, those who pay close attention to detail as well as the ever-changing relationships between various bloggers may have noticed the beginnings of a falling-out between Elie (aka ModerateMan) and myself recently.

We, (as in the both of us) nipped it in the bud, resolving our misunderstanding (and that's all it was) privately, and I tried to remove certain references I had made when my anger was first aroused, references that were unfair and grossly exagerated.&nb...

THINGS HILLARY WANTS YOU TO FORGETThis is from an email forward I got a few days ago. I repost it now to support Loca's assertion that Hillary is more (so much more!) than an ex-Presiden'ts wife.  I'll add tidbits of my own as commentary progresses, feel free to do the same yourself!Hillary Clinton has been telling America that she is the most qualified candidate for president based on her "record," which she says includes her eight years in the White House as First Lady - or "co-president"...

As you can see, I wrote this article over a year ago, but am reposting it now in response to Locamama's complaint,  "Obama is not Elvis!" which can be read here....http://locamama.joeuser.com/article/300185/Barack_Obama_is_not_Elvisro?

Barack Obama, Numinous Negro?By little-whip Posted January 31, 2007 05:34:52Recently, while reading an article in the National Review about the surge in Democratic candidates seeking the Presidency, I came across an unfamiliar term, 'The Numinous Negro' in...

Back in January I made a trip to the local ER because of a strange lump on the back of my hand, near the wrist joint. This was the second or third time the thing had swollen up, red, inflamed, and very painful, but it somehow felt 'different' from a normal R/A (rheumatoid arthritis) flare-up.

In the previous episodes, the swelling (which had spread all the way down to my knuckles, making them disappear altogether) and severe pain eventually went away after a few days, but the lump itself r...

This question is for anyone of any faith that believes in eternal reward or punishment based on what we do during our short time on this plane of existance. (Thanks to my Beloved Other for the inspiration.)

What have you done for your god that It should spare you its righteous judgment?

I'd like specifics please.

First of all....pFFFtttT to the Republican Party for making their choice before I even had a chance to vote for a candidate, effectively rendering any vote in their primary (not just mine, anyone's) useless from that point on.

Hmm, so I want MY vote to have some sort of influence. If I can't have that, I may as well stay home today. (Virginia's Primary is today.)

That leaves me to vote in the Democratic Primary instead.

I have always, even since I was a little girl, felt as if I was in the wrong place. I don't seem to belong anywhere, I feel little connection to other human beings (and like Lisa in 'Girl, Interrupted' have even been diagnosed as a 'sociopath'...as if that has any more meaning than the myriad of other psychiatric labels that have been stamped on my forehead at different times in my life) and while certain people have aroused my sympathies, (and deeply so) I still see them as 'others.'

I'm no...

I have 2 cats. Both of them are neutered males, fully vaccinated and licensed, and they are 4 and 5 years old. They pretty much stay in the house, and when they aren't inside they are either lounging on or under the deck out back. There are several strays in the neighborhood as well.

I have a neighbor named Jackie. Jackie ain't right in the head. Jackie has conniption fits, complete with screeching vulgarity, (including racial slurs) and threats of violence every time she finds a paw pri...

Warning: Pissy, whiny complaining ahead. Maybe even a shot of self-pity. Go away. Don't even read this.

Sighs...

So I get up at my usual time this morning (between 4-5 AM) and like an automaton, start stumbling through my morning routine. Let dogs out. Feed cats. Start coffee. Kiss Husband (who has sat up all night watching cheesy gore-flicks) and send Him to bed. Call dogs in. Grab coffee and head to the computer to read the news, check email, and spend some time in JU.

I not...

I've seen a couple of contributors here lately complaining about their so-called 'privacy rights' in regards to their blogging activities.

One person got upset with Admin because they were able to verify that a certain family member (that this blogger does not wish to be associated with) was logging in multiple accounts from 'town x', as if relating two fictitious nicknames is somehow a violation of their 'privacy.' No real names or addresses were mentioned, yet accusations of 'sharing perso...

Pain is subjective and affected by a lot of things. They say women tolerate pain better than men, but we all know people of both sexes that are either total pussies, falling apart over a hangnail or the sniffles, or are complete hardasses, the type that will finish a marathon on a broken ankle or insist on showing up for work with a raging flu.

Whenever I see an ER doctor, a rheumatologist, an orthopedist, or even a GP these days they always ask me the same two questions:

'Are you experie...

Ever hear Bill Gates or some other philanthropist talking about micro loans? Basically, these are small loans ( usually just a few hundred dollars) made directly to entrepeneurs in third-world countries in order to help them start a business, feed their families, and provide goods and services to impoverished communities.

I ran across an organization today called 'Kiva' that allows you to band together with other lenders in order to participate, with the minimum loan amount being only $25.00...

"Pain"
(Three Day's Grace)

Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all

You're sick of feeling numb
You're not the only one
I'll take you by the hand
And I'll show you a world that you can understand

This life is filled with hurt
When happiness doesn't work
Trust me and take my hand
When the lights go out you will understand

Pain, without love
Pain, I can't get enough
Pain, I like it rough
'Cause I'd ...
